Interim Management - What is an interim manager?
An interim manager is a proven heavyweight executive who is contracted to a client in an executive or senior management position to manage a specific project or period of change. An interim manager takes a leadership role with clear objectives, responsibilities and deliverables. When these have been reached, the assignment is complete.
- What are the skills and the experience Marble Hill Partners look for in registering interim managers?

Substantial change and transition implementation, e.g. turnarounds, restructuring, acquisitions and integration, outsourcing, start ups, downsizing and operational process change.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with objective and apolitical management styles.

Gravitas, credibility and team leadership capabilities.

Prior experience in a general management position, such as chief executive and managing director, or as a head of function, e.g: finance director, IT director, sales and marketing director, human resources director, manufacturing director, logistics director.

- How do I become part of your Elite Interim Network?

We have worked with them on an assignment at least once during this time.

We have gained a valuable insight into how they have delivered on any previous interim assignments.

- How will we work together?
Marble Hill Partners will inform you of appropriate assignments and, provided you have the availability, we will brief you thoroughly on the opportunity. We submit your details, usually along with those of two to three other interim managers. An indication of your rate and the total daily rate inclusive of our fee is given to the client at this stage.
Typically, the client will request to interview all of our short listed candidates. Beforehand we will either meet or have a lengthy telephone discussion regarding the requirements of the role, the position and culture of the client and personalities of the individuals involved.
At offer stage rates are agreed, along with start date, length of assignment, reporting lines and key deliverables. You will charge expenses directly to the client.
Finally contracts will be drawn up between Marble Hill Partners, your Limited Company and our client.
Once you are on assignment, we will maintain regular contact with both you and the client to check that everything is running smoothly. At the end of each assignment we will meet with you and the client to ensure deliverables have been met.
- Do I need to have a limited company?
As a Marble Hill Partners interim manager, you will trade through your own Limited Company. We can advise you on setting up your company, how to organise tax, NI and VAT, and the merits of opting in or out of the regulations governing interim management.
- What about insurance and tax?
We recommend that you seek professional advice about the tax rules relating to IR35. We can also recommend a provider of Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Once we have received your details we will review your CV and get back to you within 24 hours. Assuming that your experience and skill set match our requirements, we will invite you to meet with one of our consultants to discuss your background and our services in more detail. Following this meeting we will respond to you regarding your application to join our register. We will then need to take up references from previous employers.
It is at this point that we begin building our relationship through regular contact and two-way dialogue. We will keep in touch - at least four times a year, every time you start a piece of work (whether or not the introduction came via Marble Hill Partners) and every time you complete an assignment. Likewise, throughout the year we will keep you abreast of relevant assignments we are working on and events we are holding.
