£100 Million turnover recently private equity backed B2B service provider with 1000 employees requires immediate executive sales support.  Through the MBO due diligence process our client has identified the sales function as an area that requires improvement in management performance, process and systems.

Role:

After a close examination, a strategic sales improvement plan has been put together, what is now required is the appointment of an Interim Sales Manager to implement the strategic plan and lead the sales function through the change process:
With a field sales team of approximately 20 the role has three Sales Managers as direct reports; Key Accounts Manager, Social Housing Manager and Commercial Housing Manager.

The Key deliverables of the role are to:

  • Implement change in sales force coverage and people efficiencies.
  • Mentor, lead and coach Sales Managers and field sales force.
  • Manage out poor performers and recruit new talent where necessary
  • Implement a Value Added sales approach moving away from a quote and order sales environment
  • Build a sales pipeline and implement KPI’s to manage sales activity
  • The business has one thousand active/buying customers throughout any twelve month period and one thousand inactive customers. Analyze customer database, segment and target high value new customers   
Candidate Requirements:
  • Industry experience in FM, industrial services, B2B services, building, construction or maintenance
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, coaching and recruitment skills
  • Experienced in change management and process improvement, documentation, performance improvement and people efficiency planning.
  • Track record in delivering sales turnarounds.
