 A privately owned outsourcing business operating in the healthcare sector requires a Business Development Director.

 

Role Description

Reporting into the CEO, this position will lead all sales and business development activities for the company; expanding their reach in existing markets as well as developing entry strategies for previously untouched markets. 

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the delivery and maintenance of a sales pipeline which will deliver sustainable growth over the next 1 – 5 years;
  • Manage the full sales life-cycle from bid through to commercial close, including agreeing and negotiating commercial terms;
  • Provide thought leadership and deliver a sales strategy, partnering with relevant internal and external stakeholders as required;
  • Be an active participant of the Executive Board;
  • Be innovative, with the ability to robustly develop and maintain a competitive set of service solutions across all core areas;
  • Ensure that all aspects of the business are conducted in accordance with all relevant statutory requirements and Codes of Practice;

Requirements

  • Demonstrable track record of developing successful sales and business development strategies within the broad healthcare market, including: NHS and Private Hospitals and Hospital Trusts
  • Demonstrable capability and experience in ‘solution selling’ within a tendering environment
  • The ability to form trusting relationships with key clients
  • Creativity and innovation in developing solutions to clients specific needs, a creative problem-solver
  • Client ‘savvy’ – being able to think like the client and appreciate the influence of power and politics within their organisation
  • Resourcefulness in orchestrating a team around a sales opportunity
  • Experience of having operated successfully at a senior level within an outsourced B2B environment 
  • Ability to direct and lead the end-to-end bid process for new and retained business
  • Exceptional client relationship management skills and proven experience of developing profitable relationships with client
  • A flexible, team orientated attitude, willing to contribute own skills and work in lean, entrepreneurial environment
